Ubisoft Press Conference Game Spotlight | E3 2013
While you’ve probably already heard the new that Ubisoft won’t be making any Wii U exclusives for a while, they haven’t stopped making great games. Here are a few of the titles announced this week at E3.
The Rocksmith series allows players to learn the guitar as they play. Ubisoft also debuted a new mode for this Rocksmith. The mode is called Session Mode. This mode reacts to whatever the player does and creates music around it.
Splinter Cell: Blacklist
The next installment of the Splinter Cell franchise has a focus on stealth, gadgets, and story. Ubisoft also announced that the Spies vs. Merc multiplayer mode is back in this game.
This sequel to Rayman Origins adds some new features to the acclaimed platformer. Rayman Legends has 120 levels, special music levels, and competitive multiplayer.
The Mighty Quest For Epic Loot
A new free-to-play game that revolves entirely around loot. Players will build their castle and fill it with traps and monsters to protect your loot. In the meantime, player will go and attack other player’s castles to acquire their loot.
South Park: The Stick of Truth
This game has moved to Ubisoft after THQ went under. Obsidian Entertainment is developing it. They look to combine the trademark humor of South Park and classic RPG combat.
This racing title allows players to take control of a racing squad and race all around the United States. The game lets friends group up together in an online persistent world. The game stresses customization, sharing, and competition.
Building upon the successful E3 showing last year, Ubisoft brought Watch Dogs back to their conference. They stressed the importance of the main character’s smartphone, which will basically be his all in one tool for the game.
Just Dance 2014
This title is the next iteration in the Just dance franchise. They have added more music such as PSY, Nicki Minaj, Olly Murs, and One Direction.
The Rabbids are a big franchise and now Ubisoft is taking the franchise to television. Rabbids Invasion will be an interactive television experience. During the show there will be certain scenes where viewers can take control of the on scene action.
Assassin’s Creed IV
Ubisoft doubled down on the pirate world of their new Assassin’s Creed game. In the trailer they showed, all types of pirate-like activity took place. It started with a night at a tavern filled with drinking and brawling. They next morning the crew set out to sea. The trailer culminates in a massive ship-to-ship battle filled with cannonballs and boarding parties. Ubisoft stressed that the pirate theme of the game was perfect for the Assassin’s Creed universe.
Trials Fusion and Trials Frontier
Ubisoft announced two new games in the Trials franchise of Motocross platforming. Trials Fusion is for the Playstation 4 and the Xbox One while Trials Frontier is for mobile platforms. These games will also introduce a new trick system that will add more to the experience.
Tom Clancy’s The Division
The surprise announcement from Ubisoft this year, The Division deal with what would happen if the United State faced a nationwide epidemic. The game features and open-world, gunplay, survival elements, and a RPG-like progression system.
